Iran rejects Trump’s remarks, condemns US complicity in Israeli crimes

Iran’s Foreign Ministry condemned Trump’s remarks as false and divisive, accusing the US of shielding Israel from accountability. The ministry reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to regional cooperation. Tehran urged the international community to recognize the ongoing Israeli atrocities.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The Iranian Foreign Ministry has strongly rejected the remarks made by US President Donald Trump regarding the Islamic Republic, calling them “false, divisive, and misleading.”

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the ministry condemned Trump’s accusations as an attempt to distort regional realities and shift blame onto Tehran.

The statement described Trump’s allegations as an effort to divert attention from the ongoing crimes committed by the Israeli regime, Washington’s closest ally in West Asia, and the US’s complicity in these atrocities.

On Tuesday, Trump labeled Iran as the “most destructive force” in the region, accusing it of fueling instability. He also stated that the United States would not allow Iran to develop a “nuclear weapon,” despite Tehran’s firm rejection of such non-conventional arms.

Trump further threatened to impose "massive maximum pressure" against the Islamic Republic.

The Foreign Ministry pointed out that these accusations come at a time when the Israeli regime, backed by the United States, continues "the most brutal colonial genocide in occupied Palestine."

The ministry referred to Israel’s ongoing military assault on Gaza, which began in October 2023 and has resulted in the deaths of more than 52,900 Palestinians, mostly women and children. The war has received unrestricted military and political support from the US.

The statement also highlighted Israel’s acts of military occupation and aggression in Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen.

The ministry stressed that these atrocities, including violations of sovereignty and territorial integrity, along with war crimes committed against various nations, are being overshadowed by false accusations against Iran.

"The remarks of the US president are yet another example of a deceitful approach by US policymakers, seeking to prevent Israel from being held accountable for its actions against the nations of the region."

The ministry emphasized that such inflammatory rhetoric would not succeed in dividing the Iranian people, whether they reside within the country or abroad.

It also pointed to Washington’s history of supporting oppressive regimes in the region and imposing coercive measures that have harmed Iranian citizens' rights.

However, “the deceptive and insulting remarks of the president of the United States will in no way create a rift in the national unity of Iranians, whether they are inside or outside the country,” the statement read.

Additionally, the ministry reaffirmed that Iran and its regional partners remain committed to strengthening ties and promoting cooperation, unaffected by external attempts to sow discord.

"The malicious intent behind these remarks is clear, but Iran and its allies will continue to build friendly relations based on mutual respect and shared interests, undeterred by third-party attempts to cause division," the statement concluded.
